Why is the Rotovac better than a wand?
The manual scrub wand is a good cleaning tool for cleaning lightly soiled carpet. When cleaning more heavily soiled carpet, the wand becomes a "beast of burden." Cleaning results depend upon the strength, stamina, and technique of the person working the wand. Cleaning heavily soiled carpets with a scrub wand is "hard labor." The repetitive motion of scrubbing back and forth is extremely strenuous and fatiguing.
First and foremost the Rotovac is an electric power tool. Comparing the Rotovac to a wand is like comparing a skill saw to a hand saw. We have converted a back and forth manual task to a much easier and more efficient rotary mechanized operation.
The Rotovac makes more cleaning passes per minute than is possible with a manual scrub wand. In addition, the cleaning passes are from all directions rather than just back and forth. This is what produces better cleaning results with far less operator fatigue.
Why Hot Water Extraction vs. Dry Cleaning Methods?
The IICRC, CRI (Carpet & Rug Institute), and SHAW Industries, the largest manufacturer of carpet in the world, all recommend hot water extraction as the only reliable and proven method for effectively cleaning carpet. We use both portable and truck mount extractors to ensure our ability to service any client we come across. The key is that our water is heated to 212 degrees Fahrenheit, the temperature at which water boils. This method, also commonly referred to as steam cleaning (because of the steam given off from boiling water) completely sanitizes your carpet killing any bacteria and removing any soiling from the carpet.
Dry cleaning carpet is often much cheaper, but it only cleans the top 25% of the carpet, it does not allow you to clean down into the pad, or remove soil that has penetrated the base of the carpet mat that will lead to deterioration of the carpet over time.
